Hammerking Productions has just announced the dates for King of the Hammers 2026, which will take place from January 22nd to February 7th, 2026, in Johnson Valley, California.
Next year will mark a milestone for this legendary event—widely regarded as the world’s toughest one-day off-road race. Born in 2007 from a friendly challenge over a case of beer, King of the Hammers has evolved under the visionary leadership of its founder, Dave Cole.

The King of the Hammers 2025 took place from January 23 to February 8 in the Johnson Valley desert in California. This annual event, known as one of the most challenging off-road competitions in the world, once again lived up to its reputation. As tradition dictates, it attracted over 80,000 spectators who packed Hammertown and the various public areas along the most famous trails of the Lakebed. The Race of Kings delivered a historic result: for the first time a UTV claimed the overall victory.

The Nitto Race of Kings proved to be an action-packed race of broken parts, crushed dreams, last-minute leader changes and absolute triumph for a select few. From a field of 116 competitors at the tough one-day race that traversed the desert sections and notoriously difficult rock trails of Johnson Valley, JP Gomez fought his way from the back of the pack to take the win after a dramatic day of racing at the grand finale.

For an amazing fourth time in a row, Kyle Chaney (#191) took the overall victory at the Can-Am UTV Hammers Championship. He battled over 130 competitors, the challenging and varied terrain of Johnson Valley, and even the elements to cross the checkered flag first. The historic victory makes him the only 2024 Progressive King of the Hammers Presented by Nitto and Powered by OPTIMA Batteries competitor ever to four-peat standing on the top spot of the podium.

The Toyo Desert Challenge Presented by Monster Energy is in its fourth year as one of the feature events of the 2024 KOH long Week. Capturing the overall and T1 class win in the Unlimited Race was Christopher Polvoorde (#94) in his brand-new 1,000-horsepower Mason Motorsports AWD truck. Polvoorde started from the pole and had a near-flawless race with only one flat tire the entire afternoon. Following Saturday’s Prologue, the Baja Vida Class 11 Showdown Presented by EMPI.
