The 2024 Rebelle Rally promises to be an unforgettable test of skill, strategy, and resilience. As North America's longest competitive off-road rally raid exclusively for women, the event spans over 2,600 kilometers across diverse terrains, from deserts and dubes to rugged mountains. This year’s edition gathers an impressive lineup of competitors, all driven by the thrill of adventure and the desire to push their limits. As they navigate challenging landscapes with only a map and compass, the teams demonstrate the empowering spirit of off-road rallying and the pursuit of victory in one of motorsport’s most unique events.

Rebelle Rally is known for its breathtaking and challenging routes across California and Nevada with old style navigation
The Rebelle Rally, America’s longest competitive off-road rally, and the nation’s first women’s navigation rally, returned for its 9th edition in Mammoth Lakes, California. Once again, the rally has sold out, with 65 teams ready to navigate some of the most challenging terrain in the American West.
The rally began with Pre-Technical Inspection at The Village Plaza in the heart of Mammoth Lakes on Wednesday, October 9th. Open to the public, Pre-Tech Inspection was an opportunity for sponsors, friends, local residents, and family to meet the competitors up close, check out the vehicles, and learn more about the Rebelle Rally.
The official Technical Inspection took place on October 10th, where each team had to clear a series of detailed checks to ensure they are ready to participate in the competition. Every vehicle underwent rigorous inspections to verify compliance with safety and competition standards. This included verification of navigation systems being disabled, vehicle safety equipment checks, and adherence to rally-specific regulations. Additionally, competitors had event decals applied and received their maps, roadbooks, and tracking gear that will carry them through eight days of competition.
Technical Inspection is a crucial step for participants, setting the tone for what lies ahead—a test of the resilience of both the competitors and their vehicles as they prepare to tackle over 2,600 kilometers of off-road terrain in what will be the longest course in the rally’s history. Teams will be using only maps, compasses, and roadbooks—no GPS or electronic devices allowed—to navigate through California and Nevada.
This year’s rally features 130 women from the U.S., Canada, Costa Rica, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, and Austria, with competitors ranging in age from 23 to 78. Among them, 62 are rookies, with 26 teams vying for the Rookie of the Year honors. 68 competitors are returning, including four who have competed in every rally edition since its inception.
The 9th edition of the Rebelle Rally brings an impressive lineup of manufacturer-sponsored entries, with 21 vehicles from major manufacturers across the 4x4 and X-Cross® classes. In the 4x4 class, 15 entries represent major manufacturers, including Toyota, Ford, Land Rover, Jeep, and Ram. The X-Cross® class features entries from Kia, Honda, Ford, BMW, and first-time manufacturer entries from Subaru and Toyota. Teams from Rebelle Rally partners include TOTAL CHAOS Fabrication, FOX Trail Trust, and Iridium. Magna International joins with two corporate teams, and an INEOS Grenadier makes its debut in the Rebelle Rally, fielded by Warner INEOS Grenadier. A second Grenadier is also on the roster, entered by a privateer team. Jeep and Toyota are tied for the largest manufacturer representation this year, each with 17 vehicles—including both corporate entries and privateers—followed by Ford with 15 entries. Land Rover has five, while Subaru, Nissan, and Lexus are represented by two, one, and one vehicle, respectively.
Exciting contingency programs are also part of this year’s rally. The Pirelli Scorpion® Tire Challenge sees its largest field yet, with 15 teams competing on Pirelli tires for a monetary prize that can be directed to the charity of their choice. Scrubblade is also back, providing teams equipped with their wiper blades the chance to win cash prizes for their chosen charities and sponsoring the coveted Team Spirit Award.
Sustainability remains a core priority of the Rebelle Rally. This year, Renewable Innovations returns to power the rally’s remote basecamp exclusively with advanced solar energy systems, reflecting the rally’s commitment to sustainable, off-grid energy solutions.
Known for its breathtaking and challenging routes across California and Nevada, the rally’s course remains a secret until the competition begins. This year’s route includes three distinct basecamps and two Marathon Legs, where competitors camp out in remote locations without access to basecamp amenities or penalty-free mechanical support. The rally concludes in Southern California, where the final two Marathon days will play a pivotal role in determining the overall standings.
10-11-2024 Rebelle Rally Prologue
Welcome to the start of the competition for the 2024 Rebelle Rally! Teams had the chance to chase their first checkpoints and shake off the dust during the day’s practice. Prologue was a 137-kilometer loop route with ten checkpoints, two optional X checkpoints, and one on-time enduro. Today’s checkpoints were unscored; however, the teams' enduro results seeded their start time for the first official day of competition, ensuring the top scorers a clear trail in the front of the pack.
Basecamp One for the 2024 rally is nestled in a remote location in South Central Nevada, where the Rebelle Rally first visited in 2021. Today’s route took them on a portion of that course but ran in the opposite direction. It took them into the volcanic area of the Lunar Crater National Monument, just east of camp. The landscape featured lava flows, craters, fun high desert trails, and double tracks to hunt for today’s checkpoints. The competitors then descended into Railroad Valley for an on-time enduro, which was scored to determine DAY 1’s starting positions. First off of the line for DAY 1 will be Team #156 The Honey Badgers (Rasa Fuller/Leeway Pasek) followed by Team #125 Saguaro Sisters (Nicole McKinnon/Kristen Goslawski) and Team #204 MtnSubi (Carey Lando/Andrea Shaffer). Competitors leave the line beginning at 7:00 am, with the live broadcast presented by Toyota starting at 6:45 am.
Just getting to the Prologue start line was a challenge for one team. On their way from Tech Inspection to the first Basecamp, Team #193 High Mile Club of Emma Debany and Nicole McCammon’s third teammate, a 1986 Toyota 4Runner, suffered a catastrophic failure of the engine and just 24 hours ago weren’t sure they were going to be able even to start the Rebelle Rally. A new engine would be necessary to continue.
“I was hyper-discouraged,” said driver Emma Debany. “I almost passed out yesterday from fear that we wouldn't be able to do the rally. But very quickly, solutions came together, and the mechanic team here is amazing. LC Engineering down in Arizona, got us a new motor in record time. The mechanic team here is putting it in record time. So, it's just been amazing to have everyone come together and be so supportive and find solutions, where in the normal world, there wouldn't be one for weeks or even months.”
Just 22 hours after the incident, Rebelle Rally Chief Mechanic Nick Cimmarusti and the mechanics' team supported by Pennzoil replaced the motor, and Team High Mile Club was able to run through the checkpoints and enduro with the rest of the field. Emma and Nicole will be starting 52nd on DAY 1, and we can’t wait to see them in their almost 40-year-old Toyota cross the finish line.
Nick and the entire mechanics team have to be prepared for anything that might happen out on the Rally, most of which is done before the competitors even arrive at Tech Inspection. “We’re always trying to plan ahead as to what we’re going to need out here,” shared Cimmarusti. “Along with our Milwaukee Tools, which are a staple in the mechanic’s tent, we try to anticipate parts we might need since we can’t just make multiple trips to the store.”
10-12-2024 Rebelle Rally Day 1
In the true spirit of the Rebelle, DAY 1’s course didn’t hold back, and teams were expected to jump into the first official day of competition with both feet. The course had terrain that featured dry Nevada lake beds, big valleys, and plenty of technical driving, and it kicked off with an on-time enduro. Emily Miller, Founder of the Rebelle Rally, shared that this was a great day for drivers and the course “Today was a gift, especially for drivers. There were sections where they could drive without the tediousness of checkpoints and long stretches of road that were classic Nevada driving, which they will miss when they get further south to the Mojave area. Of course, we included some fun technical driving and navigating to keep teams on their toes."
From the start line, teams dove into an on-time enduro challenge and, once complete, split into groups for two loops to spread out the competitors. The “short loop” consisted of more technical driving. In contrast, the “extended loop” featured checkpoints across a dry lakebed, stunning views of Goblin Knob and the Reveille Mountain Range, and a quick jaunt across the Extraterrestrial Highway.
The teams showed off their skills today, with the top seven 4x4 teams finishing only 9 points off the leader and three of the top four 4x4 teams all running vehicles with the Bone Stock Designation. The top finisher for the 4x4 class on DAY 1 was the 2024 Jeep Gladiator Mojave of Team #129 4xEventures (Nena Barlow/Teralin Petereit), but close on their heels are three Ford Bronco teams and rookie team #120 Grit & Grace (Cara McClellan/Danielle Noonan) with just one point separating each of them.
Teralin Petereit, one of the winningest competitors in Rebelle Rally history, shared her thoughts about DAY 1 of the competition. “I think every day is equally as important. Any of the seven days can affect your final score. So, it's nice to start DAY 1 at a good pace, good mindset, using your tools, and staying smart. I guess it could set the mood for the week.”
Not to be outdone, the X-Cross® class has some heated competition, with Team #204 MtnSubi (Carey Lando/Andrea Shaffer) taking the top spot for DAY 1, closely followed by teams from Ford, BMW, and Kia.
10-13-2024 Rebelle Rally Day 2
DAY 2 of the competition covered 282 kilometers and is the first of two Marathon Legs. Teams will camp out away from the amenities of basecamp, including mechanics and fuel. Teams departed Basecamp 1 and began the day with an on-time enduro, climbing into forested mountains before dropping into the expansive valleys Nevada is known for, giving competitors time for “Hero” style driving the area is known for. This is the first time the Rebelle Rally has stayed on the east side of Area 51, taking competitors through the Basin and Range National Monument.
Teams faced a strategic choice: follow the regular, longer route around Water Gap and skirt the Golden Gate Mountains, or tackle the more difficult X routes through Murphy Gap, climbing just below Mt. Irish for more challenging black diamond checkpoints. The final section of the day led teams into the Joshua trees before reaching their camping area for the night. Teams who remain focused and manage their time effectively will be rewarded with successful navigation through this challenging rally section.
While competitors won’t know their scores until they reach Basecamp 2 tomorrow, our scoring team showed that Team #204 MtnSubi (Carey Lando/Andrea Shaffer) held on to their lead again today in the X-Cross® class with Team #200 (Melissa Clark/Kathryn Reinhardt) close on their heels. The BMW Team #205 of Rebecca Donaghe and Syndiely Wade have been staying consistent and rounded out the top three after today’s competition.
For the 4x4 class, Team #150 Desert Roots (Shelby Hall/Rori Lewis) ended up on top at the end of DAY 2, finishing two points ahead of the current overall leaders, Team #129 4xEventures (Nena Barlow/Teralin Petereit). Team #188 Trail Hustle (Laura Wanlass/Penny Dale) ended the day in third place to make a big jump in the overall standings and keep the competitive pressure on all the leaders vying for the top position.
10-14-2024 Rebelle Rally Day 3
Rebelle Rally is more than just a competition and teams chasing checkpoints; it’s about working with our partners to preserve our natural resources and protect our land for future generations. The intense 483-kilometer DAY 3 route, was the second day of the first marathon stage. They started with the final on-time enduro before rejoining the pavement to avoid the sensitive wildlife areas of the Desert Wildlife Preserve and Ash Meadows Wildlife Preserve. Emily Miller, Founder of the Rebelle Rally, had originally hoped to take the route through this section, but after discussions with officials and biologists working on this area, they opted for the pavement route as the area has been challenged by increased traffic and improper use.
Our Bronze Partner, FOX Factory’s Trail Trust, is also sponsoring DAY 3. Since its founding in 2021, Trail Trust has championed sustainable adventure for all. Their goal is to unite diverse communities to build, maintain, and expand access to trails. Through our partnership, Rebelle Rally is committed to amplifying its message to our competitors and the LIVE show presented by Toyota viewers.
Teams followed the pavement around the north side of Las Vegas and transitioned back onto the dirt in the area of Crystal for several checkpoints. Their route this afternoon led them into Death Valley National Park, featuring stunning views of the vast Mojave Desert and, of course, the massive peaks of Dumont Dunes.
Basecamp 2 for the Rebelles is nestled into the Dumont Dunes OHV area, and when they arrived and thought they were wrapping up for the day, teams were thrown for another curveball. They were issued a Distance and Heading Challenge from Rebelle Course Director Jimmy Lewis at checkpoint 15, which affected their hunt for CP16 and CP17. The challenge involved finding two black checkpoints without leaving their car or using their compass. “We wanted them to think a little more instinctively because they rely so heavily on their instruments, to feel it more than having to look at something,” shared Lewis. “When they’re locked in the car, they are forced to do it this way because their compasses don’t work, and they must devise different ways to figure out that heading and distance instead of being precise with tools.”
“The challenge went well,” continued Jimmy. “Teams struggled heavily, and it was meant to be that way. There was a time constraint put on the challenge, so they had to react and think fast, which was much more difficult than they expected. I’m happy about it, and they now have a new skill to practice.”
Results for DAY 3 ended with Team #152 Chaos Finders (Becky Brophy/Samantha Barber) on top for the 4x4 class and Team #204 MtnSubi (Carey Lando/Andrea Shaffer) in the X-Cross® class. This evening was the first time teams saw their scores from the past two days. Whether happy or upset by the results, the teams are now in the thick of competition and realize they must keep focusing to stay on top.
10-15-2024 Rebelle Rally Day 4
The Rebelle Rally has officially reached the first dunes of the competition! On a multi-loop competition day, teams tested their mettle in the sand and surrounding rocky terrain. Featuring a long desert loop including the iconic Sperry Wash, the southeastern edge of Death Valley, and skirting the Kingston Range Wilderness, competitors were able to enjoy their time on this extended loop with fewer checkpoints and big views of the landscape, finishing up in the dunes of Little Dumont. The smaller loop was at the Dumont Dunes open OHV area, which allowed teams to chase out-of-order checkpoints in the sand.
Vehicles such as the Jeep Wranglers, Gladiators, and the popular Ford Broncos are made to take on this terrain. Many teams, including the current leaders in the 4x4 class, run their Jeep 4x4s “bone stock.” In the Rebelle, this designation is given to teams who don’t make any modifications to their vehicle beyond potential wheel and tire upgrades and other minor alterations. A special award is given to the manufacturer and team of the highest-scoring “bone stock” vehicle.
Today’s teams left the start line for their dunes day in reverse seed order; the highest-ranked teams went last. This mixed up the performance today, showing that start orders can help or hinder you, depending on your experience and strategy. At the end of DAY 4, the Bone Stock designated 2024 Jeep Gladiator Mojave of Team #129, piloted by multi-time winning duo Nena Barlow and Teralin Petereit, came out on top; however, another bone stock competitor is close on their heels. The 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor of Team #150 Desert Roots of Shelby Hall and Rori Lewis delivers a brutish 418 hp through its 3.0L Ecoboost® V6 engine, and is close behind them in the overall standing.
The competition in the X-Cross® class is no less exciting. A long day covering 241 km for the group left teams tired at the end of this mid-rally day, with the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport Badlands Sasquatch of Team #200 Built Wild of Melissa Clark and Kathryn Reinhardt taking the top spot for DAY 4 just edging out Team #204 MtnSubi of Carey Lando and Andrea Shaffer.
10-16-2024 Rebelle Rally Day 5
The competition is heating up as Rebelles left Dumont Dunes today to made their way further south to the final basecamp on Soggy Lake, nestled down in Johnson Valley, California. The teams started their morning with a long on-route enduro heading south through Rasor OHV and, ultimately, ending up in the iconic Johnson Valley OHV area. After they passed through Rasor, the 4x4 competitors had both a regular and X-option. The X-option was shorter but rougher terrain that took returning Rebelles to a new section of the course for competitors.
Once the teams reached Johnson Valley, checkpoints could be hunted out of order. There were X-options for both the 4x4 and X-Cross this afternoon, which once again were rugged terrain but designed to challenge all the teams, especially the higher-ranking ones competing for the podium.
DAY 5 ended with 249 tough kilometers covered by the teams as they prepare for their final push for the last few days of competition. The current standings for 4x4 and X-Cross are tight, and every checkpoint can change the results. Johnson Valley is known for being rough on vehicles, and today was no exception. From numerous shredded tires to shocks to punctured oil pans, the mechanics have their hands full this evening.
In the 4x4 class, the Jeep Gladiator Mojave of Team #129 and Ford Bronco Raptor of Team #150 continue to be neck and neck for the top position. Close on their heels is the brand new 2024 Toyota Tacoma purpose-built by Rebelle Rally partner, TOTAL CHAOS Fabrication. While 46 points separate the top three teams, this is still anyone’s competition to win or lose.
Today’s X-Cross® competition featured highs and lows as DAY 4’s top team, Team 200, with their 2025 Ford Bronco Sport Badlands Sasquatch, who had been challenging Team 204’s early performance, suffered damage in Johnson Valley’s rocky terrain and had to be towed back to basecamp. Ford Bronco Sports have been champions in the X-Cross class for the past four years since the popular compact crossover SUV was released. The Bronco Sport has an all-wheel drive system with G.O.A.T. modes (Goes Over Any Terrain), so their owners can truly go anywhere. As the Subaru and Ford Bronco Sport continued their competition, the BMW X3 M50 steadily worked its way through the checkpoints to finish the day at second overall.
10-17-2024 Rebelle Rally Day 6
Rebelle Rally competitors are pushing toward the finish line. DAY 6, presented by TOTAL CHAOS Fabrication, was the first of two days in Glamis spent chasing checkpoints among the giant dunes. Teams departed 30 minutes early this morning to transit 290 kilometers from their final basecamp down to their last marathon leg, where their self-camp is located for the evening. Rebelle competitors have been hunting checkpoints here every year since the Rally’s inception, so teams have come to expect the challenge of this iconic terrain.
For X-Cross™ competitors, who faced 19 checkpoints today, dune driving is kept in the sand closer to the edge of the giant dunes as their vehicles don’t have two-speed transfer cases, so no low-range gears. Rebelle Rally is all about highlighting that the vehicle in your driveway is more capable than you think. In today’s competition, Team #204 of Carey Lando and Andrea Shaffer, as well as Team #200 of Melissa Clark and Kathryn Reinhardt, were battling it out again for the day's top spot.
In the much larger 4x4 class, which has 58 competitors, 22 checkpoints were encountered today. Participants chased checkpoints deep into Glamis, visiting iconic locations such as Oldsmobile Hill and the Swing Set. With 20 of the class competitors running their vehicle as ‘bone stock’ and five of them in the top ten, it’s possible for Rebelles to be successful without having to make major modifications.
With one day of competition left, the X-Cross class's DAY 6 results were a tie for first place between Team #204 MtnSubi (Carey Lando/Andrea Shaffer) and Team #200 Built Wild (Melissa Clark/Kathryn Reinhardt). The overall standings for the X-Cross class going into DAY 7 are as follows: First, Team #204 MtnSubi; Second, Team #200 Built Wild; Third, Team #205 BMW (Rebecca Donaghe/Syndiely Wade).
For the 4x4 Class, DAY 6 ended with Team #129, consisting of Nena Barlow and Teralin Petereit, leading the day and the overall standings. Their 2024 Jeep Gladiator Mojave is the ideal Jeep for high-performance driving across open terrain, and it has even been renamed the Sand Runner for the Middle East market. The remaining results for DAY 6 were Team #188 Trail Hustle (Laura Wanlass/Penny Dale) ending in second place, while Team #150 Desert Roots (Shelby Hall/Rori Lewis) finished in third. Overall standings are Team #129 in first, Team #150 in second and Team #152 in third.
Teams were in self-camp at the marathon base camp in the Glamis dunes. Due to the marathon leg format, competitors will need to sort out their strategy and plan for DAY 7 without knowing their results. Another early start will see them finishing out sand dune checkpoints before heading back to Johnson Valley for the finish line.
10-18-2024 Rebelle Rally Day 7
For the final day of competition, DAY 7 was split between two very distinctive sets of checkpoints, with the first 12 checkpoints of the day being in the Glamis Dunes and on route Enduro to Johnson Valley. Just because the finish line wasn’t in the Imperial Dunes this year didn’t mean the final route wasn’t challenging. Teams started early again after their self-camp night in the dunes with some decisions about which checkpoints to chase before departing the sand. They then continued north through Slab City, Box Canyon, and Joshua Tree National Park on an enduro, collecting the last few points before kicking off an entire set of greens, blues, and black checkpoints in Johnson Valley.
Both classes saw heated competition for the day, but in the end, Team #129 of Nena Barlow and Teralin Petereit and Team #204 MtnSubi of Carey Lando and Andrea Shaffer came out on top for the 4x4 and X-Cross® class, respectively. Both teams led the last few days of competition, but the rest of the Rebelle field challenged them every step of the way. This is the first win for Subaru of America and for Team MtnSubi, who have worked hard to bring the brand into the Rebelle Rally family.
Carey and Andrea faced strong competition from second-place finishers Team #200 Built Wild of Melissa Clark and Kathryn Reinhardt but were able to extend their lead when their Ford Bronco Sport Badlands Sasquatch suffered a puncture in their oil pan on DAY 5. The BMW team picked up their second podium in two years, this time with their 2025 BMW X3 M50 finishing less than 60 points behind second place.
In the 4x4 Class, two-time Rebelle Rally champion Team #129 led for much of the competition but had numerous challengers from a strong group of experienced Rebelles, including Team #150 Desert Roots of Shelby Hall and Rori Lewis in their Ford Bronco Raptor who finished second, Team #152 Chaos Finders of Becky Brophy and Samatha Barber in their TOTAL CHAOS 2024 Toyota Tacoma who finished third, Team #188 Trail Hustle of Laura Wanless and Penny Dale in a Ford Bronco Raptor, Team #167 Rambunctious Raptors of Bailey Campbell and Sedona Blinson in their Ford Ranger Raptor, and Team #122 Raptor Rex of Tobi Hlavnicka and Caralina Carlson in their Ford Bronco Raptor. These top six teams were only separated by 128 points, less than a 10% margin.
Top-finishing rookies for each class were Team #154 Trail Trust/FOX Factory with Kristen Matlock and Ashleigh Ballas with their 2023 Ford Bronco for the 4x4 Class and Team #203 Space Raiders with Jacqueline Space and Andrea Hale with their 2020 Subaru Outback in the X-Cross class.
10-19-2024 Rebelle Rally Rebellation
As the 9th edition of the Rebelle Rally came to a close this past Saturday, competitors and partners celebrated with a day of Tread Lightly! Trail Cleanup, massages, and the annual Busby Games. They capped off the evening with Rebellation gala and awards ceremony at the final basecamp in Johnson Valley. The final standings are as follows:
2024’s competition involved numerous veteran Rebelle Rally teams who are not just rally rivals but close friends. In the end, the 2024 Jeep Gladiator Mojave came out on top with 3x 4x4 champions Team #129 of Nena Barlow and Teralin Petereit. They led the field for the second half of the Rally and held tight to their lead to capture the highest number of points for the third time as a team. The team has earned a custom trophy and $5,000 toward their entry fee for 2025. The Jeep was one of two teams on the podium with a Bone Stock designation and took home the top award for the 4x4 class, showing that the vehicle in your driveway is more capable than you think. Rounding out the podium was Team #150 Desert Roots of Shelby Hall and Rori Lewis with their bone stock 2023 Bronco Raptor in second place, and Team #152 Chaos Finders of Becky Brophy and Samantha Barber in their custom modified TOTAL CHAOS Fabrication 2024 Toyota Tacoma in third.
The X-Cross® class was no less competitive with veteran Rebelles Carey Lando and Andrea Shaffer coming together as teammates this year to win in their Team #204 2014 Subaru Outback. The team battled with second place finisher Team #200 Built Wild of Melissa Clark and Kathryn Reinhardt in their 2025 Ford Bronco Sport Badlands Sasquatch. The podium was rounded out by Team #205 BMW of Rebecca Donaghe and Syndiely Wade in a 2025 BMW X3 M50. Team #200 took home the Bone Stock award for the X-Cross class with their extremely capable Ford Bronco Sport.
The 2024 Rebelle Rally hosted one of the largest classes of rookies the event has ever had, with 62 rookies and 26 rookie teams. Winner of the coveted trophy for the X-Cross class was Team #203 Space Raiders (Jacqueline Space/Andrea Hale) in their 2020 Subaru Outback, followed by Team #207 Wild at Heart (Ashley Bear/Audrey Keys) in second and Team #208 Trailsport Trekkers (Adia Raya/Madison Russell) in third.
In the 4x4 Rookie competition, Team #154 Trail Trust (Kristen Matlock/Ashleigh Ballas) came out on top in their 2023 Ford Bronco, with Team #120 Grit & Grace (Cara McClellan/Danielle Noonan) in second place and Team #133 Coding and Offroading (Mali Vander Leest/Sara Russo) in third.
The Rebelle Rally attracts a diverse group of competitors from many different places. The International Cup award goes to the team from outside the United States who finished at the top of the standings. This award for 2024 went to Team #144 CanToy Divas, Sue Chapin from West Kelowna, BC, and Liza Tough from Peachland, BC. This is the 4th time the team has won the Cup.
Our partners are also passionate about supporting the event, and two have contributed in the form of contingency programs for competitors. The Pirelli Scorpion® Challenge awards teams that ran Pirelli tires on their vehicles during the Rally. Winners of the 4x4 challenge were Team #139 Headings United (Mandy Brezina/Alex Gilman) in their 2020 Jeep Gladiator, who will receive a donation to the charity of their choice. Runner-up winners were Team #137 Gritty Up (Michelle Kirby/Tasha Krug) in second and Team #155 Cherry (Liza Beres/Jenna Fribley) in third. In the X-Cross class, the winner of the Pirelli Challenge was Team #203 Space Raiders (Jacqueline Space/Andrea Hale) in their 2020 Subaru Outback.
The additional contingency program came from Rebelle partner Scrubblade, who also sponsors the Team Spirit award. Winners of the teams who were running with Scrubblade wiper blades will have a donation made to the charity of their choice. In first place in the 4x4 class was Team #129 of Nena Barlow and Teralin Petereit, second place was Team #150 of Shelby Hall and Rori Lewis, and third place was Team #188 Trail Hustle of Laura Wanlass and Penny Dale. In first place in the X-Cross class was Team #204 MtnSubi of Carey Lando and Andrea Shaffer, second place was Team #200 Built Wild of Melissa Clark and Kathryn Reinhardt, and third was Team #207 Wild at Heart Ashley Bear and Audrey Keys.
To cap off the evening, the Team Spirit award presented by Scrubblade was presented to both Team #153 Dianne Tykoski and Micaela Rionda and Team #152 Samantha Barber and Becky Brophy, marking only the second time in Rebelle history a tie has occurred. This award is chosen by the competitors and key course staff. It is not about the score but how you compete that matters the most.
